Euro T20 Slam – ICC Confirmed the New Name of the European T20 League

The Euro T20 Slam 2019 is going to be scheduled the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam. This is going to be an amazing addition in the cricket T20 leagues. The Euro T20 slam will be co-hosted by Cricket Scotland, Cricket Ireland and the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) mutually. This sizzling and wonderful tournament is going to start on 30th August 2019 and it will finish on 22nd September 2019. In this tournament, Total six teams will be participating.

All the 6 teams of Euro T20 Slam are going to be city-based franchise teams. Among these teams two teams are from each country like 2 teams will be from Scotland. 2 teams from Ireland and 2 teams from the Netherlands. Total Thirty-three matches are planned to be played during this joyful Cricket Tournament.

It is for the first time that a cricket tournament between these three countries is going to be started and it will be co-hosted by these three countries Netherlands, Ireland, and Scotland Mutually. That’s the reason this tournament has been given the name as  “Euro T20 Slam” This will be a great entertainment source for cricket lovers.

Restrictions on the selection of each team squad, their all schedules and playing XIs have also been confirmed for this tournament. It is a necessary condition that  Each country franchise should have a minimum of nine domestic players and a maximum of seven overseas players in their squads respectively, while on the other hand, each franchise must field a minimum of six domestic players in their respective playing XIs/teams. All these selections have been completed by each respective country.

The new  European T20 cricket league is going to be held from 30 August to 22 September 2019, under the agreement between the boards of Cricket Ireland, Cricket Netherlands and Cricket Scotland respectively. Surely this will be an amazing entertainment source for cricket lovers.

During commenting regarding this tournament, Warren Deutrom, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland said:  “The process wasn’t just about establishing a mere name, but rather giving the tournament an identity which both aligned it with other global domestic leagues, yet made it a distinctive and a vibrant brand. It is the most important tournament for these countries to make their identity regarding supports across the world.

“Now It was important to us to convey our points of difference that would rises in local markets – in Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands mutually, where cricket is not much important game earlier.

The touch points of geography, cricket, and entertainment was our goal, and we hope it will gain the necessary traction with fans.” And same as his words surely it will be a great source of enjoyment for all cricket lovers.

Mumbai on  20th March, The official name of the recently-announced European T20 competition that will be played across Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands starting August 2019, and it has been given the name as “Euro T20 Slam”

This tournament will be played from 30th August to 22nd September 2019, and in the similar style like other well-known T20 leagues around the world has been played already, the T20 league will feature city-based franchise teams, Total 6 teams in which each two teams is from one respective host country.

The name of this tournament was disclosed after an agreement between event managers, GS Holding and Woods Entertainment, and the three participating cricket boards – Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and KNCB Mutually.

Mr. Prashant Mishra, Managing Partner, Woods Entertainment, said:

“After a complete discussion with the cricket boards of Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands, we came to a general acceptance over the name. Since the term league is used all across the world for T20 tournaments, we wanted to add the basic new energy factor to our tournament. Therefore  we have decided to name it Euro T20 Slam.”

In this amazing tournament total of 33 matches will be hosted by all these three countries, following a similar Group Stage followed by semi-finals and a final like other T20 tournaments.

Tournament rules for these teams will ensure that each franchise must have a minimum of nine domestic players, and up to a maximum of seven overseas players within their team squads. Moreover, the rules finalize that of the 11 players taking the field in each match, six players must be domestic players of these countries.
